Make a photo background transparent, free
A transparent PNG keeps only your subject, so you can drop it on a slide, a website, a flyer or another photo. Cuthouse makes one in your browser, at full resolution, without uploading the photo anywhere.
How to do it
- Open Cuthouse in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
- Drop your photo in, or copy it and press Ctrl/⌘ + V.
- Wait a few seconds while your device removes the background. The first time, it downloads the cut-out model once.
- If a spot is wrong, choose Erase or Restore and paint over it. Undo takes back the last stroke.
- Leave Background on None and click Download PNG.
PNG, JPG or WebP?
- PNG keeps the transparency and works everywhere. Best for logos, slides and design work.
- WebP also keeps transparency and makes smaller files for websites.
- JPG can’t be transparent, so Cuthouse fills the background (white unless you pick a color).
Tips for clean edges
- A subject that stands out from the background gives the cleanest result.
- Use a small brush for hair and thin parts, a big one for leftover background.
- Tick Crop to the subject to trim the empty space around it.
